Holding finger on icon to get advanced notification details?

I just got a S20 Ultra, on my Note 10+ whenever i would see a app with a badge number on it i could hold my finger on the app icon and it would show me the notification, which i could then swipe and dismiss. How do i turn that feature back on, i though it came on by default but i guess not, on my new S20 Ultra?

Are you using the stock launcher? I still see that option on mine (I'm using Nova and it works there too, but I tried it on the stock one and it's also showing.

Go to home screen settings-App icon badges-select notification on app icons

Weird, I'd have thought that was the default (or at least it was on mine because Nova is the first thing I install as soon as I get a new phone so I know I didn't tinker with stock's Settings...)

Just checked and it's not the default on my Note 9 either. Is it supposed to be default setting?
