Maybe you all can help with my battery issues. I am still getting through a full day with the extended - but would love to get through a full day with the stock battery (with minimal use). I opened up running apps in settings and see these things:
Settings
Easy Tether
Advanced Task Killer Free
PVWmdrmProxy
Calendar
Google Services
Maps
Voicemail
TeleNav GPS Navigator
HTC DM
HTC IQAgent
com.smithmicro.DM
PVWmdrmService
Touch Input
__
So that is what I have running - I tried stopping the TeleNav App - it warns me not to, I stop it anyway - and then it immediately starts running again. I do not have the GPS on - so it is just the App running.
Are these apps all needed? Are any of them sucking up significant juice? Any ideas why the TeleNav App will not stay "stopped"?
I am EVO user - looking to move to NS4G but don't want to do it if I am going to have the same battery problems on the Nexus. It looks like most people on here were EVO users and now using Nexus so that is why I am asking in this forum.
I am stock, unrooted. I plan on rooting as soon as there is a way to do it (have upgraded to GB through the OTA).
nice thing about the Nexus over the EVO is there are a whole lot less services running.Advanced Task Killer Free - get rid of this
PVWmdrmProxy - you might not need this if you dont use a lot of Windows Media
Maps - this is a killer
TeleNav GPS Navigator - might not be able to kill it but it might not be doing any harm either. you can freeze it if you root and get titanium backup.
PVWmdrmService - see above

Not necessary on Gingerbread. Not too sure about that - before I installed the task killer, my battery life was substantially lower (I couldn't make it through 6 hours). The task killer really seems to work for me.

Can you explain why it is not neccesary on GB? When I boot the phone - all of the apps are running. I open the task killer - kill them - and they are stopped. Without the task killer - they would continue to run in the background unless I were to open each one individually and stop/close them. I am on stock GB right now... Any advice/help or explanation would be appreciated (just trying to understand). Not necessary on Gingerbread.
It seems that all of these apps are the ones that are killed by task killer and automatically start up again (Maps, TeleNav, all of them). Is there any way for me to kill these apps without having them just start back up again? So frustrating.nice thing about the Nexus over the EVO is there are a whole lot less services running.
download Android System Info from the market to give you a little more detailed info on your app usage.

i find that VERY hard to believe while i can go 16+ hours off a charger with my nexus while my evo would only go for 5-7. i can push email/twitter/facebook at the fastest settings with high brightness on my nexus and i'll get at least 8-10 hours with constant checking and tweaking.
My Nexus S 4G lasts 2 days, 14 hours on average. I've never heard a non-rooted EVO 4G getting that much out of its battery.
This isn't a knock against the EVO 4G but to say that the battery life is horrible is just incorrect.
a few hours? so, 3? 4?To my experience with both phones, my nexus s. Would be dead in a few of hours of it being fully charged. No GPS, wifi, and brightness all the way dimmed and still it would die very quickly.
