Home button clicking.

I came to this thread because of the same problem. Sounds like crushing salt under the button.
While reading this thread I thought of blowing the button.
So I pressed down and blew hard all sides.
Problem gone immediately. I think it's just a very small dirt. I can't even see it.

It is from moisture (ex sweat) that gets trapped in there. EVERY TIME that I blow in there as well, the problem is gone.

The s3 buttons click depending on the model on the SCH-R530(x) the button clicks when you push in the center in the L series it does not click until the bitton has worn

Thus clicking is dull like a little (per-click) sound and there is no cracking

Just noticed this thread, which I didn't see when looking for answers to my issue, but my click in the home button became really bad. It would stick and I would have to press hard to depress the button. I've read someone describe it as salt under the button... not sure if they are the same issues but I took my phone in to Verizon and got a replacement, it seems some of the issues with the home button are a defect.

Why don't you just use a soft button instead of hard physical buttons. Easy work around.

Its available in the accessability of the phone's settings.

I was able to fix the issue by blowing very hard on the home button. Try this way.
