Home button no longer working.

All of a sudden the home button and search buttons stopped working. Did I hit something by accident? I have to keep hitting the back key to get back home. Also the phone is not comming up with the locked screen like it used to and the search button doesn't work either..

Thanks. I brought the phone back to Best Buy last night and they reset the phone for me. I would have done it myself buy I didn't know whether I would lose me contacts. Works fine now.

For me the issue was resolved by taking out the fingerprint lock!!

all of your contacts, downloaded apps, settings, and gmail are stored on the GMAIL ACCOUNT YOU SIGNED IN to your phone when you first got it.



you can actually throw this phone in the trash, get a COMPLETELY random android phone from another carrier, and if you were to just sign in with the same email you used for this phone. it would start syncing all your contacts and stuff from your old phone.

now you can rest assured that youll never have to worry about losing contacts from reseting the phone again.


I also highly reccomend you do not try Rooting your phone, sounds likely you could mess it up beyond repair and no best buy will help you then

Well, That would require someone actually reading or learning how an Android phone works so your point is Moot.
It is much easier to post a thread and explain how Android screwed you then it takes 50 replies for someone to ask "were you signed into gmail?" Which you pretty much have to be then they follow the advice of turning sync. off to save battery then another 50 replies of that is BS Virgin Mobile sux. I am tired.

I had this issue before but it was from fixing permissions with clockworkmod which just made me have to restore a nandroid(just to confuse him more)

He made no indication he was using clockworkmod and has no idea what that is.
the key words was "did I hit a button by mistake"
This guy does not have a clue what he did I think we are having an influx of iphone users who are trying to migrate to Android and want instant gratification and are using these forums like Facebook.
