Why is the home button suddenly opening google?this is annoying

Are you using the stock launcher or are you using Nova or Apex or something? There are ways to make the home button open google search with these launhcers.

If stock, are you sure you aren't holding the button? Holding the button opens google. Tapping it once should not.

Didn't the home button always open Google now if you pressed it long enough? Mine always has.

Yes, the home key always launches 'Google Now' for me, as you said, with a long press.

You might have to actually deactivate Google Now if you don't want it running your phone. Also, it's easy to activate it by mistake, so that might be what happened to you.

My phone us doing the same thing. A quick tap of the home button will open up Google most of the time and if I press on the right side of the button it seems worse. Did you find out how to fix it?

I think I've got it. Next time it pops up, go to settings-phone search-and unclick all the buttons. Worked so far for me when nothing else did.

That did not work for me. Google now still launches after normal tap, not long press, of the home button.

Mine does it too. This is a new thing. It doesn't matey how long I press the button it keeps going to Google. It takes 5 or 6 tries to get back to the home screen. I unloaded the updates to Google Now, but that didn't seem to help.
