Anyone else have this problem since the ics update? My home screen keeps shutting down over and over again.

You could try clearing the cache partition as follows (you don't lose any data doing this):

1) Press and hold the Power button and turn the phone off.
2) When the screen turns off, press and hold Volume Down and Volume Up and Power.
3) When the white HBOOT screen appears, use the volume button to move down to “RECOVERY.”
4) Press the Power button to select “RECOVERY.”
5) When the triangle and exclamation appears, hold the Volume Up and Power button at the same time.
6) Using the volume button, scroll down to “Wipe cache partition” and select it.
7) Select “Reboot system now.”

Did you happen to do a factory reset after you upgraded? I know it will solve your issue I'm just not sure if there's another way

We must have posted at exactly the same time! Factory data reset is always a good last resort, but doing the cache partition wipe is worth trying first, because you won't lose data or have to reinstall everything.

I did do a factory reset. I was hoping at some point a bug fix would happen but i haven't heard anything in a while I'll try both options and see what if anything works

Any 3rd party launchers or other tweaks to the homescreen that you've installed?

Nope nothing 3rd party as far as launchers start up screens no tweaks no root. Didn't start after a certain app just been that way. I'm going to do a factory reset tonight if no one else comes up with anything.

I should mention i cleared the cache last night which i was pretty sure it would work, or was hopeful anyway but it didn't.

I posted in another forum but i am having the same issue. I did a factory reset after ics several months ago. I have wiped my cache several times but I wiped my cache again last night and still getting the error. I hate to have to do another factory reset

You could try going to Manage Apps/All/Homescreen, and clearing data. Be aware that this means you'll have to rebuild your homescreens.

So resetting just the home screen and clearing out that data works so far! Thank you for that tip i don't know why i never did that.

Cool. I will keep my fingers crossed that you continue to be problem free!

Just happened again maybe after a reset it will stop if not I'll do a master reset if you have no other ideas. Thank you for all of your help so far

I had not experienced this ever until just this past week. I had tracked it back to a battery widget I had on my home screen. Once I removed that I've had no more problems. Might try removing things on your home page, one by one, until you find if you have a bad acting widget.

It was the google + widget of all things. Nothing since i removed it

A-ha! I never use those social widgets--they never really give a lot of space to see what people are saying, and widgets like that tend to use more battery anyway.

That was the only one i used because it's google. I didn't think it would be the problem but oh well lesson learned.
