Home screen/Menu Orientation

Are the Home Screen and Menu supposed to be viewed in portrait mode only? I looked in settings to change the orientation to view in landscape but can't find it. Coming from a D1.

Tried the search but may not have used the right search terms.

Yeah, Sense only works in portrait for non-keyboard devices.

I guess I'll have to use LauncherPro again.

I'm sure there will be a Desire Z port before too long, and that won't be an issue...

No need for a Desire Z port. The purpose of those ports was to get phones like the Inc to run the new Sense 2.0 - which this phone already comes out of the box with

Plus the Z ports have issues that can't be fixed since it's a GSM port on a CDMA device. Now that the Bolt is out, Desire Z ports will likely be abandoned and the devs will start using the Bolt's system dump as a base

But yes, XDA will have a hack in no time allowing Rosie to flip to landscape

The clock only works in portrait with the launcher.

You don't need to root to use launcher pro. It doesn't replace Sense, it's just an alternate launcher that runs on top of it.

launcher pro is an app, it does not require root

I'm pretty sure it does.

I use ADW, which is similar, and it does.

not at all infact you can switch between regular launcher and sense launcher at will,,,also download an app called "home switcher"

No, you can easily switch back.

I suggest downloading Home Switcher Froyo from the market, so it's easier to switch between launchers
