For some odd reason, my widgets will not be allowed to move to the back or to the front on the home screen. All of the other functions on the context menu work fine, but for some reason I'm not able to make it work. It does the same thing for any widget on any page (I use multiple pages for Home Screen). It's a brand new device and software is up to date. Please advise.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify what you mean by moving the widget "to the back or to the front on the home screen"? Do you mean you're trying to drag a widget to a different homescreen page?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but, there is a option in the home screen settings that lock things in place so they can't be repositioned. Maybe your screen is locked.

The below picture is from my s24 Ultra.

The widget size your selecting does it have enough space on any of the home pages ? And are you using the stock Samsung launcher or 3rd party like Nova?

Apologies for the lack of clarity. If I right-click an existing widget, a context menu appears with a few options. One of those options is to move the widget to the back layer on the screen; one other allows to move the widget to the front of the screen.

The remaining options of that context menu allows other options pertaining to the widget.

I hope this helps clear the confusion.

Cheers,
Jake

Thanks for the update Jake!
So you're right clicking the widget.
Which device are you using?

I use the term "right-click" because of my PC habits. But it's actually a long press with either my finger or a stylus (uses a screen-type mesh for contact point).
