Download titanium backup from the market, if it asks you to allow or deny superuser permissions, then you are rooted
gotcha but i didnt notice anything different myself
I think you guys are misunderstanding the OP's question. I think he wants to know how can you tell if you are rooted because he has, but does not notice a difference in performance. Is this correct scooled101? If all you did was root than you will not notice a difference. All rooting does is unlock the door. You would need to install a rom or kernel to open the door and notice a difference.
This doesn't make Nick7 any less right. Although, if you can't tell if you are rooted or not, you probably don't NEED root.
root isn't something that magically makes your phone super awesome. It is like.. hmm, how to put this...
It is like a key, that opens doors. If you don't need to open those doors, you don't need the key.
If you are trying to install nRom, ThundeROM, or my kernel, you will need root.
But there are step-by-step guides to get you there.
If you enjoy your phone the way it is, you don't need root.
