Over the past few days I noticed an ever decreasing battery life on my S7. I have not made any system changes nor have I installed any new apps. This is consistent with my experiences with the S6 and the S5 before that where, a few weeks into owning the device, the battery life starts to drop considerably from what was very good life at the beginning. Now, I'm at 63% with 3h43m on battery and about 1h39m of sot.
What gives?

Are you guys using the snapdragon 820?....to me it seems like most of the battery problems are from the US version. Im using the exynos from Toronto and I'm getting crazy good battery life. I'm actually shocked because it's like my old blackberries, where I didn't even think about the battery dieing

You are not imagining your improved battery life on the Exynos model as this article shows the Exynos as having a 10-30% better battery life and describes the Snapdraon 820 as, "Relatively poor battery performance", It also notes the poor audio and video slo-mo for the U.S. models which we have seen complaints about on this and other forums.

Also, the overclocked quad core Snapdragon is noticeably slower than Samsung's own octa core Exynos as this video demonstrates...

Have you compared it to the Global, Exynos model?

Pretty much the same for me. I have Zero issues. but for the OP, I would keep an eye on what apps they're actually using. I've been able to kill every phone I've used this last year with Periscope. some apps just eat up battery.

No issues here thus far..

Why would I need to compare it to the Exynos? The snapdragon works fine for me. I'm really not worried about how the phone works in another part of the world

Mine has stayed exactly the same, 5 1/2 hrs SOT. No change, but I've had mine only a week.

What is SOT? I'm so torn on whether or not to get this phone. Experience has taught me that when I'm this unsure about something, it's wise to let It go 😕
Dang! Wish I didn't have to research everything to death!

SOT=Screen on Time

Guys I'm satisfied with battery left. Went to work recently and started with 94% and ended the 8 hour shift with 69% with heavy use. I'm satisfied

I have the Exynos version and am very happy with it. Didn't realise there was such a significant difference between the two chip sets.

I don't know what this complaint on battery life is about. I can easily get over 24 hours on my U.S. S7. On Sunday I drove over an hour with Google maps navigating AND streaming Spotify music and only used 9%. Today I had the screen on for over an hour while I was working on something and again only lost 9%. I am very happy with the battery life. I don't understand the complaints on audio either. Mine sounds good. Both battery and audio are better than any other phone I have ever owned. So I am extremely pleased.

I'll add this to the discussion. For me, the way I use my phone, battery life is a non-issue anyway because of the device's combination of fast charging and wireless charging. At work, I have a wireless charger right at my desk, so anytime I'm not actively using my phone, it's charging anyway. So it never has time to run out of battery.
