horrible signal strength

I was worried about this while I waited for my unit to arrive, but I lucked out and got one which has good signal. I would just be ready to RMA or exchange it if you get a lemon.

That's good to hear someone getting an Axon 7 with a good cell signal, I just got rid of my Oneplus 3 because of such poor cell signal, I never saw any signal better than - 106 on the OnePlus, and lots of places with no cell service and signal running around - 120. And I know it's not my location or my Sim card. I used the same Sim card in my unlocked Nexus 6 and my daughters Samsung galaxy s6 active and averaged - 93 and - 97 respectively. I'm becoming leary of any of these $400 phones, even if they have all the available bands and frequencies, they seem to have too weak antenna signal strength. Only 2 phones I'm looking at now are the Axon 7 and Asus ZenFone 3 deluxe to see what people are seeing on cell signal.

So far so good with my Axom 7. On AT&T I get the same level of signal that I get on my work iPhone 6S+ and my former Note7, Note4.

Speed tests are the same as well.

I'm seeing the same thing on AT&T. I tested my Axon 7 side by side against my wife's iPhone 6 Plus. The signal was usually exactly the same. The biggest difference is the amount of time before the signal changes when you move to a different location.

Maybe not related to your issue but I was not able to get or receive multi-media messages. So I called T-Mobile and they helped me in creating a new APN. That fixed the problem. Then, the following day I left the house and not on my WiFi and phone showed full bars but no 4G LTE. I could send messages and make calls but unable to use the internet. I went into the old APN and copied a few of the settings into the new APN and that fixed the problem.
