My s4 active gets extremely hot and then the screen goes white/gray. I have to remove the battery and let everything cool before turning it back on to get it to stop. After the last episode my screen is darker and has ghost images.
Welcome to Android Central! The screen may have been damaged by the excess heat. A failing battery can get pretty hot, so consider trying a new or different battery. Also, a corrupt file on the SD card can also raise the temperature, because the system's Media Scanner gets caught up on the corrupt file, which increases CPU usage and therefore heat production. Unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer's reader. Now run chkdsk to look for bad sectors: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html
