hotmail faster if rooted?

Hi - email is woefully slow on the phone, unless coming to a gmail account. Would rooting the phone improve hotmail reception speed? Any mods to help that?

Forward your Hotmail to your GMail account - doesn't get any faster than that.

Not sure how Hotmail works, but my Yahoo account just forwards e-mails to GMail and does not keep a copy in the inbox. Might be worth looking into.
