hotspot using phone

my husband and I both have a go phone. I have the s5, and data. He has a s2, no data. If I changed to a plan that says I can use my phone as a hotspot. Once I get it turned on, on my phone, can he then use my data? Anyone done this?

If you can turn your phone to Hotspot then yes he could use your data.

There is a another plan on go phone att, that shows with the plan makes my phone wifi hotspot capillaries enabled. Would he just look at open wifi and see my phone for him to connect to?

It should just show up in his list of WiFi devices. Mine does on my Samsung tablet. He may need the password if you have one, at least at first.
