How accurate Is Google's Estimated Trade In?

Long story short, I decided to check how much Google would give me for my Pixel 5 and it came back at $450 Canadian. How accurate is the estimate? I was going to get the 7, but now I'm wondering if I should just get the 6a. I keep my phone in a case and use a screen protector. I'm pretty sure the value of my 5 will drop dramatically once the 7 is opened for pre-orders.

I've always gotten the trade-in value that was quoted me. As long as you've kept the phone in pretty much pristine condition (which sounds like the case), it should be fine.

My only question is how do I check if there has been any moisture exposure? I have accidentally dropped phones in the snow bank before but can't remember if that happened to my 5 or not.

That's a good question -- I'm guessing that if the phone powers on normally and the screen shows no defects, then they won't look for moisture damage.

I'm not sure how much the Pixel 7 launch will directly affect the value. It may be more related to simple passing of time -- as the phone gets older, the value goes down.

It might also be a temporary trade-in offer, like the $300 that was being offered for the Pixel 3a when trading for a Pixel 6a.

I'm really starting to think I might buy the 6a as it would cost me only about $168 Canadian.

I am worried I won't like the size of the 7. I went to the 5 because my 4xl was too big. The only thing I see loosing if I go to the 6a from a 5 is the faster refresh rate. I hardly ever charge wirelessly and don't use reverse charging. Am I missing something?

I forgot about the lower rams. Realistically, if I don't play graphic dependent games, how much will I notice it?

I think for most users, the RAM difference will be negligible.

Thanks for your help B. Diddy! I've decided to get the 6a :D Now to decide which case and screen protector to buy :p
