By this time with previous devices Samsung was already touting preorder records and supply constraints to meet demand. The only thing so far has been that they sold out of test-drive devices without giving any numbers and that N5 sales are outpacing Edge sales.

My guess is sales are not going as expected, but that is just a lame guess. Samsung though to not already be in hyperbole mode with PR seems odd.

The only other thing I've seen is that they were selling well in Korea. But, that's expected.

I got mine... That's all that counts...... Lol

Looks like people are opting for the stylus on the Note 5 rather than the curved screen. I wonder what would have happened if they had made the S6+ with a stylus.

I live in Seoul, South Korea and I will say that every street corner is pushing the note 5 and S6e+ and from what I see the s6e+ is way way out selling the note 5. I swear everywhere I look someone has one. I've only seen a handful of notes in the wild. I'd love to see some official numbers from Samsung released.

Yep, that is relative to the Edge, but not to overall sales. Maybe since Samsung got caught overstating the S6 sales with sell-in numbers they are waiting for more consumer sales info this time?

As far as Korea pushing a Samsung product- that would seem a given :)

"The data shows that Samsung*sold about*10,000*Galaxy Note 5*units online and 5,000 S6 Edge Plus*units between Aug. 14 and Aug. 23 in the U.S.*"

Sales YOY are going to be down. Not because the Note 5's good or bad but because the market for high-end smartphones is shrinking. Even Xiaomi is experiencing a slowing in sales. In addition to the high-end market contracting you have a host of new "flagship-like" devices that are about 80% of the Note 5 performance wise but 50% of the cost. So I don't expect the Note 5 to sell as well as the Note 4 but there's a host of things at play behind that beyond the gripes being aired here.

The flagship devices are probably going to be held on to longer than before, which will affect sales, but that is a good thing for the consumers that are to keeping a phone two years.

The difference between the note5 and 6 edge plus will prob be due to regions or countries, i see no reason for a big phone without an Spen, but some people want the new edge style screen so they go w that.

I hope sales are strong for the note5, but like mentioned above.. i got mine!

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

How can they be as good since it's not sold everywhere and in all options?

Referring to current markets and not world sales. Very true world wide sales will be less since not a world wide release. Momentum will not be optimized for sales velocity as a result when they do expand markets.
