How are you all able to upgrade the firmware?

I'm still on 8.0.0. I don't have the option of a fading bar or "boosted" display profile. When I look for an update, there is none.

You are probably still on the October update then. Only thing I can think of is that Google is holding back some phones while they analyze the data from the batch that got the update.

You can always sideload the official Nov 5 OTA with a computer. That doesn't require you to unlock or reset.

I used adb to sideload the update. I recommend doing it if you can't wait.
