How are you using it now after a few years?

The phone is old. there have been no new OEM batteries made for years. They age and go bad due to age.

The same could be said for the aftermarket batteries. As old as the phone is, those aftermarket batteries could be just as bad. I know I bought one like that last year that was already at a reduced capacity when I got it, and it got worse quickly. I'm back on my original stock battery now.

Ditto. I bought some aftermarket batteries and one of them has started bulging as well as the OEM battery I got w/the phone ( I bought my v20 used in Feb 2018)

The point is, your only hope of getting a working battery is an aftermarket piece, ideally NIB. I like ZeroLemon extended batteries. The oversized ones.

OEM is guaranteed to be from 2016 and thus most likely not holding the full capacity.

My 3 year old T-Mobile branded branded with the Oreo update is as snappy as it ever was. I use it as my home-based browser/entertainment center while the V40 I picked up near February is my daily driver. The V20 gets out of the house on those occasions when the IR blaster will come in handy like at the doc appointment with the TV in the waiting area or when I visit my girlfriend who is always losing remotes.

I have noticed some lag on my v20 lately, but still runs well overall. My biggest gripe is not being able to purchase OEM batteries. Third-party batteries always fall short or eliminate the NFC capabilities.

I'm slowly getting ready to migrate to Android, and just got a V20 last month. But I already picked up an OEM at Amazon for $8.49 a week ago: At least it looks like one (PlayMore) and it seems to be working fine.

Yes V20 of 2016 work Great in very very cool weather awesome video in fire investigation plus with Wild ankle camera build in sound recording O stop action photos at race track. BUT BUY THE BEST CASE.

Yesterday I used it as a voice recorder in a conference, in airplane mode. Still working great!
The bateries (have 2 OEM and 1 from an unknown brand) are not as good as new but get the job done.

Regretfully, I had to retire my 3yo one (it was struggling with updated apps) for a V40 but I miss it. Loved the 2nd screen, swappable batteries, metal housing, and "slablike" feel. The last phone I loved this much - and used this hard - was my tank of a Palm Treo.

Keeping it as a backup, but the v40 will take the daily driver spot unless I eventually migrate to a Note.

The v40 is OK and everything works, but is definitely not the same kind of fabulous and is more "just a phone".

I'm still happy with mine. I've never done an update of any kind. Not that I wouldn't. I just can't. It's an AT&T phone and I live in Canada.
I'm not that impressed with the stuff coming out lately. First, it's thinner and thinner. Then, let's fold them in half and make them twice as thick again. Duhh!

I am happy with the cameras. The sound is second to none. The batteries are replaceable.
I'll probably keep as long as I can.

Yes, I still keep my V20, mainly for removable battery.

I still love the V20. I have two working great and one for parts (probably never need parts).
I just wanted to post the replacement battery I've purchased and they are excellent.
Perfine 4100mah. They actually work better than the original.

Hail LG.

Still, use mine works fine for what I need plenty of system resources. Looking to buy another V20 as I prefer the replaceable battery which I have 4 pcs of battery. I play games and work on Asus Zenpad.

If I had the money I would buy a second one to have as disposel. I think I might have destroyed the charging feature with a Huawei quick charger. Thought I might get 9 volts and 0,2 Amps more out of it - as in total of 9 volts and 2 amps as to say 18 watts. But... I does still somewhat charge, just not really as it should anymore.

I'm going to make a reset and see if it could just be a software issue, but sadly I think it is something in the Hardware. I do have 2 outside chargers so no problem as far as it goes. But I would not like to replace big batteries like the standard batteries to not wear out the plastic cover itself.

The original batteri died out, but I got 2 extra with the 2 chargers I ordered - Not sure how long they will last, but they are at a point where I'm thinking they might give in, in any moment. I have one Perfine 6400mAh and had ordered a 10.000mAh something of Perfine which was somewhat expensive from Amazon as it was impossible to find any other place at the time, but I never got it, and got something else and in end I never got the item and just lost money.

Anyway.... Perfine has been pretty nice, but it tends sometimes to disconnect if you bump it too much. But overall works pretty good beside that issue, and it might be because of wear of the cover. I wanted a 10kmAh so I did not need to think at all on the charging thing, you can quickly use up the batteries using the camera and it helps on the heat of the mobil itself!

Got mine from Ebay ($220) Feb. 2018 using Hyperion extended battery and still love everything including the camera.

Now I'm using it as a work phone, only using WhatsApp when needed, lasts all day. I noticed now that I can only charge it well with the original charger.

My first V20 I just retired at the beginning of Nov. The charge port failed so I replaced it with another V20, a new open box unit. At $140 US. I couldn't go wrong. I did install an upgraded higher capacity battery, and gave it a new case. I absolutely despise the new skinny format of the new phones, plus no replaceable battery is a negative as well. And no headphone jack, makes you buy a wireless or Bluetooth headphone. or cart a dongle about. I love my music, and with the V20 and a 256gb card all my tunes are onboard & sound amazing. Perhaps the biggest reason I love and still use a V20 is it is less of a throwaway tool than what I see on the marketplace today
.

I have TWO V20s and won't change until they don't work anymore. I just fried a battery in one and the removable battery paid off! Great DAC with a headphone jack, intuitive, and easy to use...change...really? To what and FOR what! I got TWO for just over $300 in early 2018!

I just picked up a second one as well -a truly like-new one, on ebay. YET, a Lumia 950 is -remarkably, happily enough- still my daily driver, so I'm not even a real V20 user. It's that DAC that is great, and the V20 is now loaded with 100GB+ of mostly-lossless ripped files and is my primary portable music player. My high-impedance phones sound as great as their engineers meant for them to sound. Music is one of my passions, and the V20 so good that it merited a further/backup investment. I've returned two Fiio units because they didn't sound any better, and VLC, etc. looked and worked better on the V20. "To what and FOR what" is so right!
