How are your wood backs a a year later?

Re: Moto pure wood backs

I ordered my 2014 X (which my wife is now using) with the walnut back. It still looks fantastic. No scratches or easily visible scuffs/blemishes. If you look VERY closely in the right lighting, you can tell it's not a brand new phone. The only "case" that's ever been on it is the OEM Hula Bumper, and that's mainly to provide more of a lip to grab onto -- since the edges are so tapered.

I am tempted to go with one of the leather options this time around, but I will probably end up ordering walnut again.
This is my experience also. Looks great still.

To clarify what I was saying before, putting a case on it does ruin the feel of the phone. It is so nicely designed, from the simple on the back, to the feel of the wood, that covering it up just destroys half the pleasure of owning one. The most I would put on it is a bumper.

With the job I have, if I didn't have a case on my phone, no matter what phone it is, it would only last a couple of weeks. Some of us have to have a case on our phones no matter what. I love the wood back and that's why I take the case off on the weekends whenever I can. But, I do a lot of outdoor activities and ride my motorcycle quite a bit so sometimes my case stays on for weeks on end. But, I do get to enjoy the wood back when the case is off, and that's what was important to me.

Moto X Phone Case, SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series Premium Hybrid Protective Bumper Case for Motorola Moto X Phone, Frost Clear/Black [Free HD Clear Screen Protector, Bubble Free Installation Instruction Included] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E8GQHM...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4656437

I use that same case (Blue edges with frost/clear back) and my Moto X with bamboo back still looks brand new. I actually go case-less pretty often since I work in an office, and the only blemish on my phone is a teeny tiny, barely noticeable hairline scratch on the screen. I also sail, so I was a bit worried about how the salt air/water would affect the wood back, but mine is perfectly aligned, has no blemishes, no lifting or swelling or discoloration.

For comparison, my Moto X 2013 was all white (well I guess the back was technically called "chalk"), and by the time I upgraded the back had started to darken a bit, and had some blue around the edges (probably from jean pockets?). The wood back on my 2014 has actually held up better for me so far than the plastic on the old model.
