So supposedly there now are a couple of full adhesive tgsps on market but all with that ugly black border. Why??

Thanks but I doubt this is a good one, otherwise it would be a hit on this forum. I will try it but I am not hopeful at all.

I have read a lot of good things about the Bodyguardz version and also then there is this one on Amazon. Again I'm not 100% sure yet because I haven't gotten mine but with such a great response on the ratings I figure it's worth a try

The reason it's so hard is that the TG has to be curved - and unless that's done perfectly on every single protector (it has to be done individually) it's going to craze or crack along the curve if the full width is glued to the screen. So most of them are made with adhesive just on the edges, and the "ugly black border" hides the fact that the edges are either physically distorting or chromatically (color-wise) distorting.

Use a plastic screen protector. Tempered glass is no stronger than Gorilla Glass 5, it won't protect the screen if you drop the phone screen-down onto a tiny, hard (harder than a Mhos value of 9) cinder (like tungsten carbide which, thanks to centuries of burning coal, the world is filled with). But a cheap adhesive plastic protector will protect the screen from scratching until it gets so bad that you toss i8t and replace it. (And it does give some drop resistance to the screen.)

I have the amFilm version, it lifted within one day of not even using it as the phone was left off on the table.

Maybe no one has bought it yet. Not sure how long it has been out. I still find it weird that a lot just cut out a piece of glass so none of the sensors get protected when they can just make the glass cover the edge on top and just make a cutout for the speaker instead.

I can now confirm this TGSP is crap :/ won't even stick.

Because the glasd may cause refractions and interfere with the sensors. It's a fairly common issue in the early days of TGs when they used to do what you are suggesting.

Interesting but there are no issues when the glass covers the sensors and/or lens?

Which glass are we talking about here?

The additional tempered glass adds to the refraction index which may not be accounted for. Over the years I've seen a lot of cases where the proximity sensor was not working right and it got fixed by removing the cover.

No specific one since I know there is basically 3 designs for tempered glass for the Note 8:
1) The ones that protects everything except the sensors and lens
2) The ones that has glass over the sensors and cutout for the lens
3) The ones that has glass over the sensors and lens

I noticed on my LG G4 for example, the AmFilm screen protector I have has two cutouts, one that is for the camera and the other one is for the speaker and the sensor next to it. Couldn't they have one big cutout so the speaker and sensors are all surrounded by the glass on the newer ones?
