How can I access my regular voice mail

Voice Mail Icon

S6 Edge on VZW.

I managed to find a Voice Mail icon for my S6 home screen (in a folder called Verizon). The problem is whenever I tap it, it takes me to a screen to activate Verizon's Visual Voice Mail - which I don't want. I want regular voice mail.

Where can I find an icon for my S6 Edge that I can put on my home screen that will connect me to regular voice mail?

You should be able to create a Direct Dial widget using the Voicemail contact. That would give you a one-touch widget on the homescreen (or in a folder) that would call Voicemail. If Voicemail isn't a contact already, you could just create one, with the phone number being *86.

If it changes things at all for you, I've been using Verizon's visual voicemail for free. There's a basic visual voicemail service that's free, then there's the paid one which adds converting it to text and another feature or two that you really don't need. It's worlds better than traditional voicemail, fwiw.

The setup is for basic visual voicemail. It's honestly just regular voicemail except without voice prompt menus and one you can read and select specific clips to listen to. It's great and is free.

On the phone app the voicemail is on the bottom left when you open the app to make a call. The little envelope icon is the voicemail. Don't know if that is what you we're asking about.
