How can I connect my Samsung S4 to my laptop and show hidden items in gallery?

I have a samsung galaxy s4 with android kitkat, I used the "Hide items" in Gallery app to hide some pictures. Now the LCD of my phone is broken and I cant see anything on the screen. But, I can connect the phone to my laptop using USB cable to recover my data.

The problem is that the hidden items are not shown using the mass storage. Note that the "show hidden items" of "folder options" is enabled on my laptop.

Any suggestion?

You will need to unhide those photos using the app on your phone, the PC won't do it BUT all is not lost http://androidforums.com/threads/broken-screen-no-backup-and-need-your-data-try-this.841614/

If Im able to access my phone I can unhide them from the gallery app. but as I say, my phone is giving a black screen i can see nothing, the lcd is broken

If you read the link you would see that it shows you how to access the phone with a broken screen.

And, as noted in that link, if you have everything backed up all the time, you don't have to go through all that.
