How can I delete contact log from message?

OK guys this is my concern:
If u go to message> contacts (like u picking a contact to send it)> Logs. In this logs I have numbers that I deleted from calls logs and text logs but they show in this logs, it let me pick them but can't deleted, how can I deleted from here? Thx, hope I explain it correct.

-Go to contacts
- then select history. There you`ll see all your recent messages and contacts.
-Click the menu button on your phone.
-Then a menu shows with a delete option

or

-go to contacts
on the top it has keypad,logs,favorites,go to groups
- click on not assigned
- click on each one u want deleted, press the menu key and there's an option to delete

To prevent Message history items from appearing when you start typing a recipient name

- Open "Messages" app
- Switch to "All messages" view
- Press "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Select "General"
- Uncheck "Show sent message history" and "Show call history"

Neither of those methods worked on my T889. Running Tweaked ROM Stock Kernel. I would like to know how to delete this log as well. .

i also have been trying to delete the "recent contacts" in the message app........searched and cant find the answer.i stopped at the verizon store where i purchased the phone, they asked me "why would i want to delete them?" looking at me like i had three heads??? is this so strange

Its pretty easy to clear it ... just open up dialer app and at the top of the screen select ( Recent ) and push the menu button and select ( VIEW BY ) option and select ( All calls and messages ) and they'll all pop up and just hit menu and select the delete all option and your done !!! Hope This Helps

Using the "recent" procedure deleted everything except one -- an email address that I sent a text to. I can't seem to get that to delete. When I get the list of "all calls and messages," this email address is not on the list. But it still appears when I click the head that shows recent message logs. Any tips?

If u go to contacts, logs, the drop down box that says all logs or all calls just click on all messages (Or whatever u wanna delete from the logs list) click on the 3 buttons on the right side next to it : then click delete and choose one or all that u wanna delete.

-contacts
-logs
-all messages
-3 :
-delete
DONE.

Y was it so hard to find that answer on here!!!! It took me an hr to try and figure that out.
