How can I display the battery percentage in the notification bar on my Moto X Pure Edition?

Not to hijack the thread, but do any of the third party battery apps you guys use allow you to get a "tone" when the charger is plugged / unplugged.
Amazing to me that the charging tone, though set on the pure, will not work...

I was able to enable the battery percentage inside the battery and it is very small but even worse it is not accurate once the screen is unlocked it displays 100.
