How can I do text replacement on my Galaxy Note 8?

I switched from an iPhone, where the function was built in; so I could type the shortcut "wxyz" (In Facebook, messaging, etc), and my desired phrase (e.g., "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country") would appear. I haven't been able to find a way to do this on the Note 8. Had anyone found any apps that will do this? I tried a couple but they didn't work. I have several shortcuts I used on a daily basis on my iPhone that i would like to save.

I don't think that is a stock feature. Sorry, but there other keyboards you can use that will give you what you want. Everything is give and take, there is no perfect one size fits all. I left Apple for a Note 3 years ago and don't miss it. Google is your friend now, ( just don't share to many secrets) ask about keyboards with text shortcuts and you will find something. Good luck, and welcome to our side.

It is stock. On the keyboard click and hold on the button shown. The click on settings and then predictive text.

I have a question on the same topic. I can create the above shortcuts, but they do not populate in the text message. What is needed to do that?

Hi, welcome to AC!
You don't see short cuts in the setting of the keyboard?
