damaged device memory on my samsung s3

this morning when i saw my phone, there was a message saying "your device memory is broken and need to do a factory reset". Since i have nothing really important in my phone so i just followed it and press the reset factory button. But my phone didn't work at all for 2 hours. I tried to remove the battery and put it back, and there was a message "downloading, don't turn off target!!" and again, it didn't work at all for 2 hours. I'm so frustrated as i need to make an important call and i need my phone very soonn... :(

I'm not sure how that happened, but it seems like the phone may be bricked. Have you contacted Samsung to see if there's anything they can recommend you do to fix this?

Re: damaged device memory on my samsung s3

"Device memory is broken" is normally a hardware problem, and there aren't any buttons you can push to fix it.

It would seem as if both your recovery and system partitions are gone and all that's left is the download partition, so when you turn the phone on, it goes to downloading. If long-pressing (for about 30 seconds) doesn't cause it to boot into something else, it needs to be repaired. If it's not under warranty, you might want to look at Swappa - you can probably get a good used S3 for what it would take to repair that one.
