Welcome.

You don’t have to back up your data, but it is wise.

What sort of update is this? Official or unofficial?

Welcome to Android Central! That's an 8 year old phone running an extremely outdated version of Android. There have not been any official updates for the phone for at least 6-7 years, and there's a good chance the Backup app no longer works correctly due to the system being so obsolete. What are you trying to backup?

Hi, i'm trying to backup my data.in the settings there is a updates part, when i click it a new option appears:System updates. When i click, it opens a new blue page.its name is emotion and shows the current version:H30-U10 V100R001C900B108 and EmotionUI 2.0.i have two options below these:1_online update 2_Local update. When i click online update,it says there is no updates and when i click Local update, a page appears named update:
Warning.during the upgrade do not remove the battery, sim card and sd card.make sure the battery level is sufficient.it is suggested that you backup data to sd card before upgrade.
And there is a backup data button and when i click it it says unfortunately backup has stopped.

Take it to a local repair shop see what they say

"Local update" means updating from a file saved to the SD card or the phone's storage, or via connection using USB. This would still require an official update to be available from Huawei/Honor, but there aren't any. And as I mentioned before, the system is probably so obsolete that the backup function no longer works correctly.

If you're willing to root your phone, you could use titanium backup. Lookup the exact model of your phone on XDA forums and find tutorial on rooting and backups.
