How can I fix my LG G4 power button problems?

LG G4 Power Button Problems

My G4 updated last week and my power button (which is used to unlock the phone) doesn't work properly anymore. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it stops working, I have to restart the phone by removing the battery and restarting it. I gave it a factory reset, but the problem has persisted. However, sometimes it works perfectly..

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

When the button fails does double tapping the screen work? If that fails too, ie you are unable to wake the phone, then the problem might be the phone/software itself instead of the power button.

Thanks, that fixed mine. My clear screen protector was covering the proximity sensor. I cut some clearance on it. Now it works!
