S5 Battery charging problems (slow charging & android system)

Hi, since lollipop, I have had tons of problems with batteries on the S5.

First problem -

When I plug in to charge the phone, it takes around 2-3 seconds more for the phone to notice that its being charged. With this problem, I have also noticed that the phone also takes longer to charge and take overnight to charge fully. I have tried cleaning the port by blowing in it, and using a toothpick.

Second problem -

I have also had a dramatic decrease in battery since upgrading from 4.4.2 to 5.0, I've used Greenifly, but it had almost no effect on the phone. I noticed when i check my battery stats that it says 12% on android system and 10% on android OS.

Welcome to Android Central!

I would try dong a factory reset of your phone. It is extreme but solves a lot of the issues caused by the update to Lollipop. There have been a lot of people having tons of issues after the update. Most are fixed after a factory reset. Make sure to back up all your data before you do it.
