Android Central Question

I've bought a USB to female AUX cable because my AUX input in my phone went bust and the jack doesn't hold cables anymore, they just unplug very easily. I was hoping I could go around that with a cable that will allow me to plug in an adaptor from USB to AUX so i can still plug in my headphones to my phone, kinda how the new iPhones need the dongle to connect headphones as there is no headphone jack. After plugging in the cable the phone still plays sound out of the speakers which I expected will happen but after looking for a way to force my phone to play the music through the USB using software i have found no solution.

It's not as simple as plugging in a cable that "converts" the USB port to what you want it to be. The port actually needs to support that function.

Also - not all adapters are built the same. For example - the USB-C to Aux adapter from a Pixel 2 XL may not work on a OnePlus, because OnePlus decided to move the DAC (the part needed for playing through the AUX) into the adapter rather than leaving it in the phone itself (just an example, may not be the actual case).
