Ive tried just about everything thats out there on the net and I cant seem to get it to work, I know with the S5 its not as simple as with the older versions but is it even possible anymore?? Please help

Sure. You'll have to do a little studying though, to find out how the bootanimation.zip file works. And you'll have to pull the individual files out of the animated gif. Once you've done the first, the rest is easy. Put the gif files where they go, write the script and it should work. (Make sure a) you rename the original file, don't overwrite it, b) you have USB debugging enabled and c) you have adb installed on your computer. On and 4) you know how to get round in Linux, so if the phone bricks, you can delete your file and rename the original back. As script that doesn't end causes what looks like a bootloop. (It's not really - the booting will continue just as soon as we get to the end of time. "Repeat forever" causes a really long animation, and a simple typo can cause it.)

ok Im new to this whole thing, I just rooted it today, ive figured alot out at the expense of my battery can you help point me in a better direction, on the older androids it was simple as placing a new file in the old ones place, Ive found people doing this online and they dont have to do any of that, I just cant seem to get my recovery to find the file that theyre talking about, as in the link below the zip file is in the right place, it just cant find it when I go into the recovery mode and my phone starts up nothing like that, good ol sprint, Thanks for the fast reply
for the link remove the () around the 5 and the space between the .com trying to get the link to work

10 meaningful posts to post a link.

Is there an easier way? Maybe. Try BootAnimations I've never used it to convert gifs to boot animations, so I don't know how good it is for that. (The phone has to be rooted, of course.)
