How can I get an OTG adapter to work with my Nexus 4?

hi, i hav nexus 4, and i bought OTG Pendrive , now its not supported in my cell, how can i support it ????

You need an OTG "Y" cable. The phone supplies no voltage so needs an external power source for the USB port

You need a USB OTG cable like this one:

That is an OTG cable, but it will not supply necessary voltage to the USB port. It needs to look something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CX...droidcentral00-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU3491003

It will have a micro male end for your phone. Micro female end to plug your power adapter into and a standard female end to plug in something like your flash drive.

Your kernel will also have to support external storage.

As mentioned, you need a kernel that support USB Host.
You need a Y-split OTG cable that can give the connected device external power like this: y-split usb otg | eBay
You also need root and the app Stick Mount.

If it is just a thumb drive or USB stick, it should work fine provided you have the right kernel.

No it won't, the USB stick will not have any power whatsoever without external source. There simply isn't any power output from the Nexus 4 port.

will it work with the 3.4.0 perf g2 cae 413 kernel? is this the origi al kitkat kernel?
