How can I get Android Auto working on my phone?

I have a AVIC8100 touchscreen radio. I am trying to get android auto to work but my phone acts like there is nothing syncing to it. I have a note 5 please help.....
I have my charger hooked up to the usb.

Not sure what else to do?
