AC Question

I have NFC enabled. I am using Trigger to program NFC tags. I have successfully created a tag that will open Waze when I'm in my car. I wanted to create another tag that I can attach to my laptop to open my mobile hot spot on the phone. I'm using the native hot spot app. The tag will turn off wifi, but it does not successfully turn on the hot spot. I don't know how to configure the Configure Actions box. There are 4 lines. First is Action, which I have set to Enable. Second is SSID. I keep putting in what the phone SSID is, but it keeps reverting back to AndroidAP. The third line is Auth type. I set that to WPA2 or Open and neither seems to matter. Auth Key is blank. Should I put in the password? Still doesn't seem to matter. Check box is for "use current configuration." Don't know if that should be checked or unchecked.

do not turn off the wifi. wifi is needed to turn on the hotspot.

1. setup your hotspot
network name or SSID: use whatever you like and this is the wifi name that would show up on device(your laptop) that wants to connect to that hotspot
wpa2 psk
set password this is the password to enter on your device(laptop) connecting to this hotspot

2. now use the nfc tag to simple enable hotspot

3. now on laptop simply connect to the wifi with the password configured on the phone

No good.I found that if i configure a task using the Launch Activity Settings where I choose application "Settings" and select activity com.android.settings.TetherSettings it will launch the hotspot app but it doesn't turn it on. So I'm getting closer, but I don't know how to get it to actually turn on.

I'm trying to figure out how Tasker works. I think that might help me solve the problem. If someone knows how to create a simple program in Tasker to turn on the hot spot, please share. Thanks.
