How can I get my HTC One touchscreen working again?

HTC One touchscreen input not working

I have had my HTC one for a little over a year now and of course the warranty had just ended. I had had my phone off and when I turned it back on I could not use the touchscreen it just would not work. I am running android 4.4.2 and HTC sense 6.0

I have tried performing a soft reset and a hard reset both did not fix my problem. I have a USB O-T-G and mouse that I am using to control my phone with but this is only a temporary solution.

If anyone knows how to get my touch screen to start working again or has had the similar problem could you please help me out.

Sounds like 1 of 3 problems:

1) Bad motherboard. Worst case. The motherboard has to be replaced.

2) Bad screen. Second worst one. The screen has to be replaced.

3) Loose connector. Cheap repair.

No repairs have been made, everything is original and it was a sudden thing. It was working 100% fine 10 minutes before.
