How can I get my Moto Assist to shut up?

Moto Assist will not shut up!

I am rapidly getting to the point where I will be selling my much loved Moto X (2nd gen) as I simply can not stop it from shouting text messages out while I am at work - even when set to SILENT. I have turned off Moto Assist, Moto Voice, Talk Back and everything else that could possibly be causing it. Do you have any ideas?

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried clearing the data for the Moto Assist app?

I have cleared the data several times but still no luck. No matter what I do my phone shouts the name of anyone that calls or sends me a text while I am sitting in a quiet, open plan office - and it does it when the phone is set for no interruptions. All I can do at the moment is set the phone to flight mode during the day and check it at lunchtime and after work.

Not totally sure on this, but I think Moto Voice is what talks to you, that app has permission to your text messages... did you try disabling the app? Settings > Apps > should be in your downloaded tab, but for sure it's in your All tab, select it > Clear Cache, then Disable it.

I think this must be a bug with the latest update. Exact same thing is happening to my wife at work. Will report back any progress.

Has anyone with this issue tried uninstalling the last update and re doing the update? I am not having this issue so I cannot test it.

I had this problem a while back but Motorola must have fixed it in the latest update as it no longer has that issue.
