How can I get my screen working?

Top left corner of screen does not work

I have a moto x 2014 verizon.

For some strange reason the top left of my screen doesnt work.

When I used a drawing app and drew something in that region, there were no lines, HOWEVER when i flipped the phone to landscape, i could draw on the unresponsive region. I have no clue if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. This is very annoying because most of the menu buttons are on the top left, and I cant access those buttons. Also, when I reset my phone, the problem goes away but after awhile it comes back.

Same issue! Note 5, just started. Only I CAN draw on that corner. But all other touch nonresponsive. Can drag icons all around without skipping. It's not the SCREEN it's definitely some software issue like the old touch mouse "hot corners" that would designate any particular corner as a hot key. Something is taking over that top left corner. It WORKS upon reboot. Until whatever it is triggers it. I'll keep checking back for any ideas. 9N20A 5.1.1
