T-mobile samsung galaxy s6 edge microphone not working

Hello

So today out of no where my microphone on my phone stopped working for voice calls. I tried it using Skype and that worked but when i make a regular call the other person can't hear me at all. The voice recorder also doesn't work. I've tried restarting it, clearing the cache, taking out the SIM card all to no avail. I'm guessing this is a software issue but any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Welcome to Android Central! It's possible that the primary phone mic has failed, since the voice recorder and Skype might use the secondary mic. Can you make speakerphone calls to people? Can they hear you if you use a wired or Bluetooth headset?

Also check to make sure the primary phone mic's opening isn't blocked by anything, or clogged by debris or lint.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem on my Galaxy S6. The primary mic is not working even if I try to use the voice recorder. It works fine if I use my headsets so I'm worried that it may be a hardware issue. I even factory reset my phone twice and I still have the problem. Some days it will work for a while and then just stop. I'm very disappointed as the phone is brand new...

Any suggestions?

Something not working + under warranty = bring it back. Posting the question is already wasting too much of your time on someone else's (Samsung's, in this case) problem. If it can't be fixed by a few button pushes, let Samsung worry about it when it works its way back up the supply chain. (You get a replacement phone, so it's not your worry after that.)

As a dealer, my wholesaler hated me - sometimes I'd be returning mor phones for replacement than I'd be picking up for sale. He had to do paperwork for each one. My attitude is that if 50% of the phones manufactured end up back at the manufacturers for scrapping (or even repairing), it's going to end up being cheaper for them to produce quality phones in the first place. If people act like sheep and put up with junk, the price/benefit ratio to the manufacturer is in favor of producing junk.

Let's revive "We're not going to take it any more" and give them back their junk. Even if it takes 20 phones before you get a good one. That's 19 phones they lost money on.

I agree completely, as I have the same issue. The problem - "bringing it back" means SHIPPING it back (in your not in a Samsung Service Center area) and being without a phone for xxx amount of days. For a new phone, that really pisses me off.

Did you ever got it resolved? I am having same problem on s6. i'm debating whether to change the mic, that is on charging port as that is the one activated during calls without speaker.
