How can I get rid of the FBI virus?

fbi virus , please help

I got a fbi virus downloaded to my phone as an app called "browser update" . I know how to get into safe mode but the app won't delete . Have very important files saved onto my phone and I really don't want to factory reset . Is there any way of deleting this virus ? They're demanding $500 to unlock my phone and I really don't want to do that . I would appreciate any help. Thank you. I have a galaxy s5
