How can I get rid of the floating call timer icon?

This is really bothering me. Especially when it always sits on the direction line of WAZE when I drive and when I try to drag it it often moves the street map and I find myself dealing with the phone screen instead of the driving....
I have tried installing various dialer apps, but when a phone call is made - the system phone dialer is at work and I cant get rid of this icon.
Nothing in the actual system disables this buggy feature.
Any ideas?

There was a similar thread a while back, but so far no one has found a way to remove it.
