How can I hide/remove the recently added Google Assistant app from the app drawer?

In the last month (probably in the last feature drop), my Pixel 3 XL has added an Assistant app to my app drawer (see attached pic). When tapped it just activates the assistant to start listening.

How can I remove this shortcut in my drawer? I prefer to minimize the number of apps in my drawer, and can access the assistant with much more convenient ways than a shortcut in my drawer. I've searched the assistant settings without success.

Thanks!

Couldn't attach pic to original post. Here is the screenshot of the app (titled"Assistant")

Interesting, I don't see that in my 3 XL. Are you using the stock Pixel Launcher or a 3rd party launcher?

I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the Pixel 3 forum since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

Typically, I hide apps like that in a folder to reduce their numbers. Since many of them are difficult to actually remove for good, it gets them out of the way.

Right, but you can't do that in the App Drawer (at least not with the Pixel Launcher or Nova Launcher). Personally, I rarely access the App Drawer unless I'm setting up my homescreen, so this wouldn't be a big issue for me, but everyone's a little different.:)

Gotcha, I guess that's where Samsung might be different, because I do that all the time in my app drawer. This is what my app drawer looks like. Very clean.

Yep, that's always been one of the nice features of Samsung's launchers.
