Android Auto volume TOO low

I am on my 3rd Galaxy S6.....not too happy, needless to say.

I have a Pioneer AVIC-7100NEX in my truck.
I set up Android Auto with the proper settings and the cables.
My first 2 phones worked fine. My 3rd phone has an issue with voice guidance and phone calls.
The volume is EXTREMELY low. I have raised the "ALERTS" volume all the way up, 32.
My music sources seem to stream at the proper level.

I reset the stereo. Reset the phone. This is may last resort before I go for yet another phone. May be time to go back to Apple :-(

Please let me know anything you can think might resolve.

Re: Android Auto volume TOO low

Ok, I can answer my own post now.
While connected for android auto, open you sound settings. Raise them all the way up. My phone has 4 options.
Once I did this the volume was working correctly

I'm having the same problem... volume is low even with AA volumes all the way up
so your saying... turn up, ringtone, media, notifications & system in sound - volume settings and it will be ok?
what about once you disconnect? are they still on full or do they go back to normal?

When you are one google now window and press volume button, look to the right bottom corner, it will display "ALERT" button. When you press that you can raise the volume.

I Have the Note 4 (T-Mobile) on DOK2 Firmware. I am connecting to a pioneer AVIC 8100NEX.
Before updating to the DOK 2 firmware (previous Firmware COG2) Android Auto work flawlessly. Now after the update to DOK2 when connected to Android Auto the volume is really low; however, when connected to just B/T volume is normal. I have tried resetting the phone and head unit, I have totally wiped and reinstalled the phone's firmware, I have also tried various rooted roms with various kernel combinations. Nothing seems to work. I connected a friend's Verizon Galaxy S6 (latest Android 5.1.1 on it) and it worked flawlessly. All this leads me to suspect perhaps T-Mobile did not implement Android Auto correctly in the DOK2 release. If that is the case though I would think internet searched would reveal people with similar problems but there isn't much out there as of yet. As a side note any combination of adjusting volume and disabling music processors have no effect. I am at the point I wait to see if Marshmallow fixes it or upgrade my phone....I welcome any suggestions though.

Figured out a solution...after many many many failed attempts I wiped the phone and installed CM 12.1 and it works with the head unit and Android auto's volume is working correctly. Still on TMO baseband DOK2 firmware. Soooo if all else fails just root your phone and I install cyanogenmod 12.1

Donald Mills,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I also have the Note 4 on T-Mobile and had the same problem. I do not have a plan to root my phone, so I might wait for a major OS/firmware update from T-Mobile.

Thanks.

I know this is a couple months late but I just got the 4100 NEX and had the same volume issue with my Note 4. It is a problem with the phone which I'm sure will end up getting fixed with updates but until that time Fine Volume Control app works well to take care of the issue. Others suggest using it with Tasker to automate the volume control however I have yet to test if this is even needed but I can attest to the fact that Fine Volume Control does fix the volume issue.

I have a Note 4 and solve the low volume problem by using Fine Volume Control app and Tasker app combination like dsthor83 mentioned above. Below is a detailed description written by 'noobish' on the DriveAccord forum.

====

This fix works for me, it's worth a try.

1: Download Fine Volume Control from app store

2: Download Tasker

3: Set tasker to launch Fine volume when Android Auto is launched

4: Connect phone to AA in the Accord

5: Play music with spotify or any music app on AA

6: Adjust the media volume tab on Fine Volume Control to max

You can also save a profile on Fine Volume Control so you can quickly one click for the volume fix

====

I hope this helps

Just picked up a note 4 for free and had this same problem. My s4 had fine volume levels. This thing at maxed is too low
Hopefully this fixes it. Thank you! Still getting used to the phone but so far I like it.

I used the volume app and was able to get my Pandora to a nice level in AA but the text read back and voice in general is very low still. All the volumes worked perfectly fine with the S4 I don't get why it doesn't on the note 4 lol. Especially since they have the same Android version.
