I'm not sure your question is clear. The storage on your G4 (for the internal drive or the sd card) is open for you to use however you want. If you mean how do keep it from filling up, don't download every app you run across that looks interesting, or at least uninstall the ones that you don't actually use (typically about 80% of the ones that we all download).

As far as sd cards go, they've gotten pretty cheap, especially for the smaller ones (16 and 32 GB sizes), and can really free you up from having a phone that is always tight on available space.
