Android Central Question

I don't want my phone to lock when I press the power button, I just want the screen to turn off so I don't accidentally call someone. But every time I turn off the screen my phone locks and I have to put in my pin or use my fingerprint. I have auto lock set to 30 minutes. Seems like this would be simple.

If the screen doesn't stay unlocked for 30min when set to that, or any other time, there's something wrong.

But the OP is turning the screen off so the lock will be initiated.
Ah yes, I see, switching off versus timeout. In that case, unchecking Power Key Instantly Locks may be the answer - at least I have the option - but the OP seems now to have fixed.

I agree with belodion -- the best solution is to turn off the Power Key Instantly Locks option, which should be available on any phone. That way, even if you turn off the screen with your Power button, it will still rely on your Automatically Lock interval to decide when to lock the screen.

Thanks. That worked on my Asus Z6. The problem is finding all these useful settings!! 😆
