Android Central Question

If you still have an app that was removed from the Google play store, will they have the ability to remove that app from your phone? If so how can I prevent that?

The app won't be deleted from the phone where it was installed. Usually there's a good reason why apps are removed from the Play Store so maybe you should consider to stop using it.

Welcome to Android Central! As long as the app is installed on the phone and it isn't malicious, it won't suddenly be removed from your phone. (If the app is malicious, then Google Play Protect might remove it from the phone, if you have that turned on.

Good point!

Also keep in mind that if an app was removed because the app was abandoned by the developer or otherwise imploded, the app might not work any more (especially if the app relies on a server that no longer exists).

Also keep in mind that if the reasons for kicking the app out of the app store are serious enough, then although google/apple might not try to remove the pre-existing app from your phone, the one that was already downloaded before it got kicked out of the app store, but google/apple could probably roll out an OS update to your phone, one that you really wouldn't want to avoid, and one that essentially "disables" the app.

For those saying Google can't remove an app from your phone Play Music uninstalled itself from my Note 8 after it quit functioning.

With that said I've still got apps that are no longer listed in the Play Store, can no longer be bought, but with the original link I'm able to go in and redownload them. Problem is some of the apps I can do that with no longer work. The old Magic the Gathering games are one such example, I can download and play the game but all my purchased content is gone along with multiplayer functionality.

Yeah, it's an interesting situation. One of my favorite apps is Power Toggles, which you can no longer find with a Play Store (or Google) search. But if you have the link, you can still install it from the Play Store: Power Toggles - Apps on Google Play

If it's the Parler app, Amazon shut it's access off to their cloud service, so it's not going to work whether it's on your phone or not unfortunately.
