How can I recover the password on my Galaxy S4?

i have a galaxy s4. i forgot my password.

I tped in my password wrong..now I am completely locked out. tried to use the android device manager for goggle and it changed my lock screen but not my password.any help besides resetting?

Welcome to Android Central! You typed it in wrong, or you forgot? Two different things. If you typed it in wrong, it should have let you try again several times.
