How can I remove or change the turn-by-turn box on AA Navigation.

WIth a 8.4 inch screen the box no the left with the next turn and arrival time is much too large. This should be across the top of the screen, or have an option to disable it. Is there something I'm missing. Is there a non-rooted way to mirror the phone screen to the car/
