How can I stop my 510 from changing words as I type?

Android 4.4.2
HTC Sense 6.0 with API 6.25
software up to date

I love having spelling errors underlined, and I love having Word Prediction turned on. However, if I do that, the thing changes my words as I type. I do NOT want to add thousands of short forms to the local dictionary. I have read instructions for other HTC phones, but none of the ideas seem to work. (example - found instructions mentioning "Android keyboard" setting, but I don't have that)

Simple example
if I type "ur" the phone changes it to "it"
NO, just underline "ur" and let me decide

Any solutions? Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! If the 510's keyboard is same as the HTC Sense Input keyboard on the M8, then I don't think there's an option to turn that off. You might want to try other keyboards that do give you that kind of option. Google Keyboard allows you to adjust how aggressively the text gets autocorrected.
