How can i stop my LG G4 from being constantly connected to wifi?

I have just got an LG G4 phone and it won't allow me to disconnect from wifi. I don't want to use mobile data unless i decide i want to do so, and would rather the phone didn't automatically connect to wifi as well. How can i stop the constant wifi connection? Do i need to remove all apps that require constant searching? And how do i stop the Looking feature/app?

Turn off WiFi. There are widgets that allow you to do that right from the home screen.
