AC Question

My new Nexus 6p is overheating.

I just got my Nexus 6p(brand new) through project fi. Its hardly been 5 hour. I started the phone and there were some Android update, while updating i experienced overheating. So mean while i detached the charger but still it didn't help. After the updating was done it was still warm. I called project fi for the same and they told me , if i replace the phone - there are chances that i might end up with refurbished one.
I really don't want a refurbished one, any help on this?

When the phone updates it gets hot, usually not anything crazy though. What you think is hot, isn't for the phone.

Give it a few days. Lots of updates and app activity in the initial setup will make the phone warm. It's likely fine.

I just bought mine yesterday and it got pretty toasty there while doing, I think, three updates (I think it was three security updates which I guess needed to be installed sequentially. Once that was done it settled down. So far I'm liking it a lot (coming from a Note 5 whose battery life became horrible after the MM update). Using it today to read the news at lunch I noted it got hot again. Being on day one I'm not going to jump any conclusions yet. Heat is wasted energy but if the phone can sleep effectively, for my usage, I can live with that as long it get's the same or, preferably, much better overall battery life.

That's just the way the 810 is. Warm but still working isn't "overheating".
